Saturday December 17

Art Works (2pm to 4pm)

Art Works Studio School will be hosting their annual holiday student show.  In addition to exhibiting student work, Art Works has organized a series of events such as card making and other creative activities that will allow attendees to spruce up their holiday décor.  For additional details, click here.  Art Works is located at 3711 Rhode Island Avenue, Mount Rainier, MD 

Brentwood Arts Exchange (Starting at 3pm)

Meet Tadeusz (Tad) Lapinski at the Brentwood Arts Exchange for an artist talk.  Lapinski, who teaches at the Universityof Maryland, is included in the collections of numerous museums and institutions across the globe, including the National Gallery of Art, the White House, Museumof Modern Art, San Francisco Museum of Art, the Museumof Modern Art Tokyo, and TianjinMuseumin China, among many others. A Gallery in Trinidad (9pm to 12am)

The homespun Trinidadbasement gallery will be featuring the work of Calder Brannock in an exhibition entitled Adventure to the Moon! Brannock laments US economic and social decline and nostalgically looks back at the US’s space programs, in particular the last moon landing in 1972, as examples of the nation’s bygone days of scientific and economic might.    For additional details, click here.  The Trinidad Gallery is located at 1501 Neal Street NE, Basement. 

Sunday December 18 

Park Cafe (5:30pm to 6:30pm)

Alan Braley is a Capitol Hill artist who up until recently ran The Village, a boutique near Eastern Market.  Braley will be in attendance at his seagull series opening.  Note that at these openings, the owner of Park Café serves delicious wines from his native Chile.  For additional details, click here.  Park Cafe is located at 106 13th ST SE
