Friday September 7 

Honfleur Gallery (7pm to 9pm)

ARCH Development Corporation will officially present the First Annual East of the River Distinguished Artist Award to B.K. Adams at a reception at Honfleur Gallery.  The award is presented to a seasoned artist of any discipline who lives and work East of the River and has impacted the community.  For more information about the award, click here.  Honfleur Gallery is located at 1241 Good Hope RD SE


Tubman Mahan Gallery (6:30pm to 8:30pm)

SCRAP-DC presents their second annual juried group show at the Tubman-Manhan Gallery where artists were required to create work using 75% recycled materials.  This year’s theme centers around creating a shelter, a “Fallout Shelter” to be precise where DC’s scrap is reused and re-purposed.  For more information click here.  The Tubman-Mahan Gallery is located at center for Green Urbanism, 3938 Benning Road, NE


Saturday September 8


The Fridge (5pm to 9pm)

The Fridge will present AIR/WATER by David Molesky.  Molesky’s paintings haunts the viewers with post-apocalyptic landscapes of his native California.  Not that the artist will also be live painting on Sunday from noon to 2pm.  For more information and images click here.  The Fridge is located at 516 1/2 8th Street rear alley, SE


CONNERSMITH (6pm to 8pm)

Conner Contemporary Art is now CONNERSMITH.  The gallery presents DC native Lisa Ruyter Let us now Praise Famous Men.  Ruyter’s acrylic paintings derive from 1930s and 1940s era photographs.  Her oeuvres lament the reduction of people who once lived to mere photographs.  For more information and images click here.  CONNERSMITH is located at 1358 Florida Avenue NE


G Fine Art (6:30pm to 8:30pm)

Right next door to CONNERSMITH, G Fine Art will present the work of local artist Patrick McDonough.  In his multimedia exhibition, all I want is to be a happy man, McDonough connects his work to Mark Linkous (aka Sparklehorse) resulting in an exchange between the visual artist and the deceased musician.  For more information about this exhibition, click here.  G Fine Art is located at 1350 Florida Avenue NE


INDUSTRY Gallery (6pm to 8pm)

INDUSTRY Gallery promises gallery goers a Baroque Soirée.
