ArtSee ArtFair (5pm to 9pm)
DC-based curatorial organization ArtSee has assembled a group of local emerging artists to Tabula Rasa, an event space located on Barracks Row. Billed as an art fair, audiences will find the works of thirteen artists exhibiting in a concession-like format, ready to bring home. For more information, click here. Art Romp (5pm to 9pm)
Just a quick bike ride over the 11th street bridge will take you from Barracks Row to historic Anacostia where Art Romp returns after a six year hiatus to the Anacostia Arts Center. Curator Molly Rupert has assembled a group of 60 artists, many of whom are local, to show works in a variety of mediums. For more information, click here. DCArtistExchange (10:30am to 2pm)
Join a panel discussion hosted by DCArtistExchange on the role government should play on funding the arts. The discussion will be held at the recently completed Brookland Artist lofts. For more information and to register, click here.
RandallScottProjects (6pm to 8pm)
Artist Chris Bors’ The Youth are Getting Restless derives its content from what the artist sees as the “schizophrenic nature of contemporary society.” Viewers will find a juxtaposition of pop-cultural icons woven in with sub-cultural references creating cartoon-like compositions with attitude.
