This weekend By The People is taking over multiple sites around DC to exhibit all kinds of arts installations, speakers, and performances (free and ticketed).  Make sure to check out the website for a full schedule of events.  You can see a snapshot of what’s on offer today here in DC.

Friday June 22

Taking over The Parks at Walter Reed
Our concentrated location for Friday is The Parks at Walter Reed, where we’ll have pop-ups starting at 1pm and culminating in an installation performance by Jefferson Pinder at 5pm.

BalletX is Coming to Town!
BalletX is here from Philadelphia, bringing Latin and Soul-inspired contemporary ballet to Union Market’s Dock 5 Friday at 8pm and Saturdayat 2pm. Tickets are available here.

Join our Augmented Reality Art Hunt
Download the ARTECHOUSE app before visiting the festival so you can join our augmented reality art hunt! Look for signs with QR codes pointing you to a different augmented reality art piece at each festival hub.

Getting Around the Festival
A reminder that we have courtesy shuttles circulating between our festival hubs from 10am-6pm today and every day of the festival. Look for signs for the shuttle stops at any hub.

We also have a great rideshare partner in Lyft – they’ve offered some codes for use during the festival. New Lyft users get a credit of up to $5 per ride for a maximum of two rides with the code BYTHEPEOPLE. Existing users get 20% off one ride up to $4 with the code BYTHEPEOPLE20.
