800px-The_Milk_Carton_Kids.jpgThe Milk Carton Kids are a major force in the continuing American folk tradition, blending ethereal, oscillating harmonies and intricate, inventive musicianship — with a uniquely powerful brand of contemporary songcraft.  They’re in DC for a short time, with a sold out show the next night at U Street Music Hall.  Sunday evening will be the perfect time to catch them in an intimate setting.

When: Sunday, October 27th at 8PM
Where: O Museum in The Mansion, 2020 O Street NW
Tickets: $100
On-line reservations required, cash bar.

They’ve performed with Robert Plant, EmmyLou Harris, and Steve Earle. They were also featured in T Bone Burnett & The Coen Brothers’ concert film documentary, Another Day/Another Time: Celebrating the Music of Inside Llewyn Davis, singing alongside Joan Baez, Jack White, Gillian Welch, Marcus Mumford, Punch Brothers and many other folk luminaries and upstarts.

They’ve also appeared on Jimmy Kimmel Live, CBS This Morning, and NPR Music Tiny Desk. They’ve been nominated for two GRAMMY’s, one for “Best American Roots Performance” and the other for “Best Folk Album.” They also won The Americana Music Association Award for “Duo/Group Of The Year.”

Proceeds of this benefit concert support the artist-in-residence, heroes and other programs at O Street Museum.
