About Melanie Kehoss
Melanie Kehoss approaches her artwork methodically: Research, design, execute. This methodology was already apparent during her studies at Lawrence University in Appleton, WI, where she developed a pop-art style of digital portraiture. After graduating, Kehoss taught herself how to cut portraits out of construction paper, and has been cutting ever since. In 2008, Kehoss began displaying her papercuts as lightboxes, which remain her signature. Kehoss’ work has appeared in over a hundred exhibits throughout the country, and has been featured in solo shows at venues such as Fred Schnider Gallery, Blackrock Center for the Arts, Hillyer Art Space, and Orange County Center for Contemporary Art. Melanie holds an MFA from University of Wisconsin-Madison. https://www.kehoss.com/
About Matt Pinney
Matt Pinney is a multi-media artist living and working in Washington D.C. He has a deep curiosity about nature and the bounty that it brings. An avid gardener, Pinney’s investigative study of nature forms the basis of the relationship between material and art. The process of developing pigments, the basis of any painting, recognizes the chemical reactions that make colors possible. The translation of a pigment, from its primitive state, into a work of art is preceded by an understanding of both a chemical and an alchemical change. Pinney received his Masters of Fine Arts from the Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts and his Bachelors of Fine Arts from Indiana University in Bloomington, Indiana. His work has been shown nationally and internationally. http://mattpinney.com/
