Whether you are a fan of anagrams or gospel music or children, we want to see you at Anacostia Gracious Arts Program‘s (AGAP) Fall Benefit Concert with DC Washington. DC (real name) has sung the National Anthem at Redskins games, but on Saturday, October 19, he will be singing with some friends to benefit AGAP’s after school arts program for kids in Anacostia.
Tickets for the evening’s entertainment are $25 and can be found here. Proceeds will benefit the kids at AGAP, who are taking classes this semester in drawing, voice, dance, drama and drums. Since art education in public schools is not getting the attention it deserves, AGAP is offering kids a way to creatively express themselves after school.
Not sold yet? Just watch DC Washington sing The Lord’s Prayer here, and you’ll be a fan as well.
The concert will last from 7:00 to 9:00pm and can be followed by drinks with friends at many of the local bars or restaurants. Past favorites include CoCo Sala (for the chocolate lover), Bistro d’ Oc (for the Frenchophile), and Poste (for the glamourous). Note your suggestions in the comments below.
