Pottery on the Hill: Chris Cooley & the Intersections of Sports and Art

Chris Cooley, former Washington Redskins player, joins Pottery on the Hill on Saturday, November 2. Cooley, who majored in art at Utah State, is a skilled potter who owns The Cooley Gallery in Leesburg, Virginia, where he sells his work and that of other artists. He will show his pottery and meet with attendees from 10 a.m. – 5 p.m. on Saturday.

Chris will offer two brief talks on the Intersections of Sports and Art at noon and 2 p.m. on Saturday. This is a great opportunity to examine how similarly the two disciplines exist, both requiring habits such as dedication, attention to detail, and practice.

Pottery on the Hill kicks off with a Preview Reception on Friday, November 1 from 6:30-9 p.m.Ticketholders to the reception receive the first chance to see and purchase the works, meet the artists to learn the inspiration behind their works, and enjoy hors d’oeuvres. Indulge in a fun night whether you are the most serious pottery collector or are looking to get a jump on holiday shopping with one-of-a-kind, handcrafted works.

Pottery on the Hill runs from 10 a.m. – 5 p.m. on Saturday, November 2 and 12 Noon – 4 p.m. on Sunday, November 3. Admission to the show and sale on Saturday and Sunday is free.
