What is it about a clean slate that is so terrifying? It’s zen, sure, but what does that even mean? A cluttered house or desk looks awful, but to the one who did the organizing, that clutter is stimulating!

Same with a blank screen: it’s like a vertical wall to be scaled, not just a steep incline. The least bit of a clue with which to go forward is what I need. That cursor blinking at me is just antagonizing.
